These are the most common HandyXlate issues and the fastest path to a fix.

Troubleshooting
- HandyXlate relies on your device’s system TTS engine for read-aloud.
- Install and enable Google Speech Recognition & Synthesis if your device does not already provide a working TTS engine.
- A common path is Settings -> Accessibility -> Text-to-speech output, then switch the default engine to Google.
We cannot install TTS engines or language packs for you. On some ROMs without Google Play or Google services, you may need to set that up yourself.
- The app shows a local fallback price first, then tries to load live pricing and trial offers from Google Play.
- If Google Play is unavailable, the fallback price may remain visible and trial information may not appear.
- To see live prices or purchase, the device and current network usually need working access to Google Play services.
Displayed trial eligibility always depends on the actual Google Play offer returned for your account.
- Test on a normal screen first, such as a browser page or system settings screen.
- If only one target app fails, that app may be blocking screen capture for security reasons.
- If the system shows messages like “can’t capture”, “sensitive content hidden”, or a blank/black frame, HandyXlate may not be able to read that screen.
If you see buttons like “Show content”, “Unhide”, or “Allow this time”, try enabling them and capture again. Wording varies by device and app.
- Many Android ROMs aggressively stop background services to save power.
- Open the in-app Keep-Alive Guide and follow the instructions for your device brand.
- Allow background running, remove battery restrictions, and enable auto-start if your ROM exposes those controls.
- Use larger text when possible.
- Increase contrast between text and background.
- Pause scrolling or animations before capturing.
- Split long content into multiple captures instead of one very long screen.
- “Coming soon” means the feature is not publicly enabled yet.
- “Update required” means the feature is available, but your installed app version does not support it yet.
- These states are controlled by the current app build and remote configuration.

FAQ
Does HandyXlate install or manage TTS for me?+
No. HandyXlate only uses the system TTS capability already available on your device.
Do I have to use a VPN for subscriptions?+
We do not require or instruct that. The practical requirement is that Google Play services must be reachable on your device and network for live price and purchase flows to work.
Why do some apps show no text after capture?+
Some apps or ROMs block capture for security reasons. In those cases, the captured frame may be blank, black, or hidden by the system.
Why did the bubble disappear even though translation worked before?+
The translation feature may still be fine. What usually changed is that the ROM cleaned the background service that keeps the floating bubble alive.
Can you improve OCR accuracy automatically?+
Not in every case. OCR quality depends heavily on font size, clarity, contrast, and whether the screen is moving.
What does “Update required” mean?+
It means the feature has been enabled on the server side, but your current installed build does not include the needed client capability yet.
